Will the suction actually hold on my highchair?
Yes. The double-lock suction works on smooth, non-porous surfaces including IKEA Antilop trays, Stokke Tripp Trapp trays, and most wooden and plastic highchair trays. It won't work on textured or fabric surfaces. Press down and twist to lock.

Is this better than bamboo plates?
Silicone has several advantages over bamboo: it's fully dishwasher safe (bamboo isn't), microwave safe, won't crack or splinter, and is lighter for small hands. Bamboo can also harbour bacteria in hairline cracks over time. Silicone stays hygienic wash after wash.
